"Making a difference" for God's kingdom

I think that if everyone were honest they would admit to being really worried about the direction of our country. A lot of people are discovering that they have elected a president who is very different from the man he said he was when he campaigned! By far, the news that floors me most is that a very large percentage of Obama's voters are below 30 Christian evangelicals! 53% of Protestant believers voted for Obama while only 46% voted for McCain! Why is it that a large percentage of kids who grew up in a Christian home, with parents that lovingly taught them Scripture, went to church every Sunday and even to a Christian school, leave home and vote the same as kids who were brought up in a secular home devoid of God?

Parents, we are failing! The whole point of raising up our children in God is so that they will then go out and make a difference in our world, for God's Kingdom. And what bigger difference can they make than in how they vote? These "Christian" kids have elected a president into office who is a proponent of abortion, who will select Liberal activist justices to sit on our Supreme Court, who is supported by NARAL and Planned Parenthood, and who advocates every manner of policy that is in direct contradiction to God's word (so much so that a large block of the Christian Church in America have drawn up a document, "The Manhattan Declaration" which states that Christians will stand firm, in civil disobedience if necessary, to fight against policies put forth by this administration that are contrary to God's word).

I know that parents must feel bitter disappointment when their children leave home and leave God but do we feel disappointed when they vote for a Liberal pro-abortion president who embraces the oppressive socialistic policies of a Hugo Chavez or who wants to steal the wealth of hard working middle class families for the recently proven hoax of 'global warming'? Or do we even make the connection?

We are raising our children to believe in God but what is missing is for parents to make the connection for them between their beliefs and how they put those beliefs into action out in the world. The earlier the better. If you don't "indoctrinate" your kids, they will! Make your kids "rhetoric proof", testing politicians' words with Scripture. Kids want to "make a difference" but do they want to make a difference for God?

Our Christian kids voted for President Obama because of "hope and change", beautiful websites, clever slogans and soaring rhetoric, (in other words, slick marketing) never understanding the real implications of his politics (or worse, they do understand and don't care!). We need to connect the issues of the day to the Scriptural Truths you've taught them. Expose for them the strategies of the left (after you learn them!). I am not just talking about Democrat vs. Republican. This is about liberalism and moral relativism. You must have a running commentary as events unfold, without being preachy, without haranguing; one that will engage your kids on the agendas and behaviors of the politicians in power. Ask them what they're learning in school. There are always opportunities!

It is never too late to engage your kids in conversation about events. I once made the observation to a friend that a Christian cannot be a Liberal and he asked 'isn't that presumptuous'? It's no more "presumptuous" than believing "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me". I presume Scriptural truths are eternal and that they apply to voting!

The eve of destruction?

I'm going to try and stay focused on this...

I just read this article from my Weekly Standard, WILLFUL MISUNDERSTANDING. Anyone interested in the Kennedy conspiracy theories will be interested. The vastness of the corruption, the degradation and the damage to our country done by the left cannot be overstated. The race hustlers in our country have been trading off of the hatred stirred up by the assassination of JFK for decades to keep America roiled and enraged. President Kennedy was assassinated by a devoted communist. All the evidence was present the day Kennedy was shot. But the facts were ignored by a leftist media anxious to hide them and a narrative of a beloved President shot by right-wing bigots gained steam and became accepted fact. There was no alternate media sources, no internet, no voice of the opposition. Please read the article. It will all come together. There are no new revelations. It's all old, accepted facts with the difference that they are being put in the correct perspective and given the correct prominence by historians. There is also a short paragraph about the assassination of RFK by a self-professed muslim extremist, also "retold" by the media to target the 'sinister right-wing'. The background and motive of Sirhan Sirhan is beyond question.

More and more of us are beginning to discern the pattern of behavior of leftist tactics, aided and abetted by a very willing media on it's way out, by it's own petard. Young people will put this all down to 'right-wing' nut-ism, having been indoctrinated by a mountain of leftist thought pushed over decades as accepted fact. The word 'communism' has been relegated by a clever left to the same looney bin used for 'bogey-man', rendering the word ineffective and the very symbol of hateful, anti-war, soldier-spitting leftists, the "peace symbol" has become the new 'cool'; a symbol that stands for anything but peace. It stands for a cowardly appeasement of evil.

But those of us who have lived through these events and who have been paying attention have witnessed the whitewashing by reporters and the re-telling of historical facts to suit their own twisted Marxist ideology. It continues today, hiding data to further 'global warming', now 'climate change' lies. Lies about capitalism, lies about our economy, the pitting of groups against each other, claiming racism when opposed, and always "doing it for the poor". In fact, these ideologues do not care about people. They care about one thing: the destruction of traditional values and the 'city on a hill', which is America and everything it stands for. And now in a continued effort to besmirch the 2nd amendment and the character of our soldiers they are whitewashing the Fort Hood murders by terrorist Nidal Malik Hassan, blaming it on America's 'love for guns', and 'on the pressure on the poor Major because he was singled out'. He wasn't fit to tie the boots of the soldiers he murdered.

"The tone and tendency of Liberalism cannot be concealed. It is to attack the institutions of the country under the name of reform and to make war on the manners and customs of the people under the pretext of progress". Prime Minister Benjamin D'israeli said it over a hundred and fifty years ago in England; he was wise to their game. Liberalism is single-minded in it's strategy, it's one of destruction. Wake up, patriots, and shout it from the mountain tops!

The Internet Swamp

  • Nov. 15th, 2009 at 6:35 PM

My friends, I take every opportunity to converse with young people about faith, politics and TRUTH because we live in an age where there is an overwhelming amount of information available at their fingertips on the internet. Browse any chat room and you will get an avalanche of opinions from every corner of the world. Most of the time they come from people who are more impressed by their own fine sounding words than they are by facts. There are websites for every cause. It would take a very mature person to be able to wade through it all and come away with their beliefs intact. After all, the arguments make sense, they appeal to compassion for the poor, our responsibility to the earth, reason and to the teaching of intellectual elites from Harvard, Yale, the U.N., the I.P.C.C and so on who must have it right. After all, they have years of learning and degrees under their belt! Indeed, our children's views may become unrecognizable after spending time on the internet! So how to know the TRUTH?

I worry and I pray for our young people because they have believed in the wolves that have invaded the flock. Well-schooled wolves that have slick marketing teams, language experts and great websites. So many kids think our founders outdated, "old dead white men who were slave holders", they are "more enlightened" because they have the benefit of today's "technology and science". They wear Che Gueverra T-shirts (hold me back!) and romanticize socialism. They don't know about the Liberation theology movement of South America and how it contributed to the rise of tyrants like Hugo Chavez and Evo Morales and the murder of millions. And now that movement, Marxist in origin, is gaining ground here in America. 'But it couldn't be! We are so much smarter'! Venezuela, the richest in oil reserves and natural resources in South America is experiencing energy shortages! Why? Because government has taken over private sector energy companies and is crushing the profit motive. Our young people don't understand the concept that governments do not produce anything and the larger they become the more inefficient and corrupt they become, the fewer rights we have. THERE IS NO EXCEPTION. They are being taught by the wolves that profit is bad and private industry is evil (human nature notwithstanding, not all systems of government are equal!)

But TRUTH never changes. The standards of our Constitution have withstood the test of time, though the wolves have tried to convince us that it's a "living document", conforming itself to the times rather than the immutable standard that it is. Constitutionalist judges, who seek the intent of our founders, are much to be preferred (but much maligned!) than activist judges as attested to by Thomas Jefferson himself, "The true key for the construction of everything doubtful in a law is the intention of the law-makers. This is most safely gathered from the words, but may be sought also in extraneous circumstances provided they do not contradict the express words of the law". So the intent of the law is what is important! Not fitting the law to the culture. Why aren't our Democrat politicians heeding Thomas Jefferson? He wrote the Constitution! They claim him as the father of the Democrat party! He also says this: "On every question of construction carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed". !! How much plainer can he be?

Know first the TRUTH! An expert in spotting counterfeit money does not study the many frauds, he studies the original until it becomes so well imprinted in his mind that he can spot the counterfeit immediately.

"Spreading the wealth" sound like a good idea? A fitting quote from Thomas Jefferson: "To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to everyone the free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it." And history tells us it (spreading the wealth) has never worked!

On social programs: "Dependence begets subservience and venality, suffocates the germ of virtue, and prepares fit tools for the design of ambition", Thomas Jefferson and "The government of the United States is a definite government, confined to specified objects. It is not like the state governments, whose powers are more general. Charity is no part of the legislative duty of the government", James Madison.

Or how 'bout this gem: "I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in their poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. In my youth I travelled much, and I observed in different countries, that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer."! Benjamin Franklin. Wow! Words we would do well to apply today!

These are so very few of the many golden nuggets of wisdom on government and human nature by our founders, ALL PRINCIPLES DERIVED FROM SCRIPTURE. These principles have been applied for 226 years and have done us well, indeed. Good enough to make us the most prosperous nation, in the shortest time ever, on earth! There is no arguing with history! These same principles would work around the world to lift people out of poverty were it not for communism and Marxist tyrants.

My young friends, before wading into the swamp that is the internet be prepared with wisdom and knowledge. Hold to the TRUTH. The source of TRUTH is Scripture. And as you scroll down those comment sections, remember this: "Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels". 2 Tim. 2:23.

Don't we wish, as parents, that we could pass our wisdom down to our children in their genes? Or at the very least that they would have ears to hear and learn from our mistakes!

My children, read Proverbs. The entire book is wisdom for life, but in particular Proverbs, chapters 1 through 8. Then for political issues consult our founders' very words, our historical documents, read in context. Read biographies and histories by authors who love this country and think it exceptional because it is! Every truth needed to deconstruct today's issues have been written about before, "there is nothing new under the sun". Principles don't change. Don't allow the wolves a foothold in our government. It may already be too late! But reading is hard. Doing the background work is hard. So much easier to form opinions on what you think is right but really know nothing about. "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end leads to death", Pr. 14:12. The older I get, the less I know!

Young people, do not be impressed by "scholars". I would rather have an unschooled country preacher, well-versed in Scripture and full of common sense in the Oval office than a scholar from Harvard!

Have I gone on long enough? All this to say that we have to answer our young people's questions, redirect them when they're wrong, teach them the correct history of our founding, point to Scripture and do all of this with love, patience and kindness. It's a swamp out there! Did I mention long-suffering? hah!

Trials in NYC

So the Obama administration has figured out how to put the Bush administration and the United States of America on trial. That is why he is bringing the terrorists, who by the way, have already pleaded guilty, to trial in New York City. The America-hating left will disclose every secret of the CIA as evidence and will expose our country to the hatred of the world. Where will we find 'a jury of their peers' to judge the terrorists? Do they have peers in New York City? The trials will be a media circus. These 'show' trials are just another way for the President to humiliate the country he hates. Yes, I said it. I think Obama hates this country. Listen to Jeremiah Wright. Those are the thoughts of our president. Lord help us.

"If we can keep it"

Today I listened to a long explanation of how Democrats are plotting to forever change our government. It will happen in a very under-handed and deceitful way. It has to do with how they are going to attach a major health care bill, that the American people have rejected, as an amendment to another bill that has nothing to do with health care and pass it that way. Hidden. Under cover of darkness. I was outraged. I know enough to know that what they are planning has never been done before. Both parties have corruption and their share of crooks but what the Democrats are plotting is nothing short of a complete and total coup of our system. I am not using hyperbole. I look around me and I see people going on with their day as if nothing is any different. And yet, quite possibly, by next Thursday, we may have a total take over of our hospitals, insurance companies, drug companies and everything and anything that has anything to do with medicine and healthcare. This bill wouldn't go into effect until 2013 because Obama knows it will fail and he doesn't want to affect his chances at a second term. Why else would he wait until 2013? If our healthcare system is in crisis THEN WHY WAIT UNTIL 2013?

Most people don't want to know how the sausage is made. They just want to eat it. Who cares how a bill passes. I know it's boring. It's much better to talk about something different. But if we know so little about how a bill is passed and becomes law that we don't even recognize, or worse that we don't even care, that our government is being stolen from us and that America will be changed forever, then our schools have succeeded in 'dumbing' us down.

It's always been my contention that we need to fill our children's hearts and minds with a love and appreciation for America, for the idea that God has gifted us this great country and that our rights come from God, not government. It's a dichotomy but we need to teach our children to be obedient to God but to have a healthy distrust of government. Men are, after all, fallen and power corrupts. But we also need to teach them about the particulars. They need to know what makes America different from every other country on the planet.

Benjamin Franklin was asked by a woman as he emerged from a meeting of the Constitutional Convention in 1787, "so Mr. Franklin, what kind of government have you given us"? He replied, "a republic, Madam, if you can keep it".

"IF YOU CAN KEEP IT". It's our responsibility to remain vigilant. It's our responsibility to keep informed. It's our responsibility to call our representatives and to send money to our candidates. It's OUR responsibility to teach our kids the values most important to our hearts; our faith and our patriotism. We do not have a "democracy". We have a "representative republic". We the people send representatives to Washington to act on our behalf. The Obama administration is making and end-run around our representatives. All of them. They are using unethical means to game our system. They are hiding bills in other bills. They are ramming bills down with no time to be read. They are shutting down debate.

Is anyone else outraged?

Are  you a mom? I found this great website: ASAMOM.ORG. It will help you teach your kids about America.

G-20 violence

  • Sep. 24th, 2009 at 5:00 PM

Verbal hand grenades have been lobbed at conservatives by the left wing media, that is ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, the NYTIMES, LATIMES, etc. this summer.  Liberal commentators and bloggers have called conservatives who attended town hall meetings and the 9/12 march 'terrorists, an angry mob, hate-filled and racist'. And yet not a single act of violence has been perpetrated by the right. After the 9/12 march, the largest in history, the Washington D.C. mall was left cleaner than before! There are pictures to prove this. Imagine, if you will, over a million people marching and leaving no trace behind them! The news media didn't cover this at all. Today, leftists descended on Pittsburgh to protest the G-20 meeting. Scenes turned chaotic and riot police threw tear gas into the crowds and arrests followed. This was an anti-capitalism march. Who are the real terrorists after all? THE CONTRAST COULDN'T BE GREATER! Peaceful citizens protesting the greatest expansion in government in our history and violent leftist anarchists.

After today, any denial by the mainstream media leftists about who the real threat to American civic society is will just show them for who they really are: apologists for leftist propaganda.  It isn't as if we didn't already know that!

WAKE UP!

The president has cancelled the missile defense program we promised Poland and eastern Europe for protection against Russia, and this ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE INVASION OF POLAND BY THE RUSSIANS. That is no coincidence. The Obama administration has also revoked the visa of legal interim president MIcheletti of Honduras to the U.N. and APPROVED VISAS FOR HUGO CHAVEZ, MAUMMAR GADHAFI, MANUEL ZELAYA, AHMADINEJAD, AND DANIEL ORTEGA! Are any of our Democrat friends paying attention? Vice President Biden has said that IRAN IS NOT A THREAT! WAKE UP! AND THIS: the White House collects Web users' data without notice! Here's a quote: "The White House is collecting and storing comments and videos placed on its social-networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube without notifying or asking the consent of the site users, a failure that appears to run counter to President Obama's promise of a transparent government and his pledge to protect privacy on the Internet."

What is it going to take for well-intentioned Obama supporters to start doubting the good intentions of this man? The president has turned his back on all our allies and put his arm around the likes of Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez. He has now surrendered to Putin's request of dismantling our missile defense, this after Putin invaded Georgia to the south. We are headed for turbulent, troubling times and the President is disarming us.

Nonspecific language

"The goal from this White House is to have as much nonspecific language passed by Congress in policy areas like health care and the environment and then use Sunstein's office to put in place the regulatory language called for by Congress that gets us to where we want to be.  It may very well be the most important job in this administration, given the lack of success we may have on Capitol Hill," says a White House source."

Nonspecific language. When President Obama said this during his recent speech before congress, "there remain some significant details to be ironed out", laughter burst out from the gallery. It wasn't meant to be a laugh line but people now realize that what the president wants is to avoid at all costs "specifics". You won't know what health care reform means until it is passed, in the darkness of night. The president's "lack of success on Capitol Hill" means nothing to him. He will bypass the people. He will get what he wants. The very definition of fascism. To know this is to have power. Use that power to send money to his opponents. Use that power in 2010. Vote.

America IS no. 1 in healthcare!

"Another student asked the president about health care in Iraq and Afghanistan: “And my question is, currently 36 countries have universal health coverage, including Iraq and Afghanistan, which have it paid for by the United States. Why can't the United States have universal health coverage?”

Is this what passes for education in public schools? These are jr. high kids! Did his teacher tell him that or did the Obama people coach him before the rally started? Does that sound like a question that he just thought of out of thin air? UNIVERSAL HEALTH IN IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN??  And President Obama didn't correct him? The President should have told this student that even with all our faults we have the best d*mned health care system in the world! That is a fact. But the supposedly un-biased U.N. report ranking health care systems in the world ranks the U.S. at no. 37! And what is the driving criteria behind this "report"? It's this: "What portion of healthcare does the government pay for"! No kidding! The health care is crappy in Britain but because the government pays for it it ranks no. 18! Oman is no. 8! Have you ever heard of anyone flying to Oman for  care? "Colombia achieved top rank because someone with a low income might pay the equivalent of one dollar per year for health care, while a high- income individual pays 7.6 dollars." Columbia?! Do you want to receive your health care in Columbia? Here's the nut: When rated solely on health system responsiveness, patient satisfaction and how well the system acts THE U.S. IS RANKED NO. 1! That's right, NUMERO UNO. Here's a priceless quote from the U.N. : "The reason these are all advanced industrial nations [that ranked nos. 1 through 5 in responsiveness]  is that a number of the elements of responsiveness depend strongly on the availability of resources [i.e, MRI'S, colonoscopy, effective breast cancer drugs, etc. in short, diagnostic medicine.]. It continues "In addition, many of these countries were the first to begin addressing the responsiveness of their health systems to people's needs." Hmmm. Wow. Addressing the responsiveness TO PEOPLE'S NEEDS. Do they do that in Iraq and Afghanistan?  Or Columbia? No? Well, pretty soon if Obamacare passes it won't in America either!

This is typical Liberalism. Liberalism does not seek to create the best system in the world (we can't be better than anyone else, don't you know!), it seeks to spread misery evenly to everyone with the erroneous proposition that when government pays suddenly every problem can be solved. At no time in history has that ever been true! The farce that is liberalism will be on parade as we watch the president address congress tonight and promise us the moon.

Someone should tell that jr. high kid at Obama's rally that fully 1/3 of all children born in Afghanistan die. And no one is running to Columbia for that pap smear! Be armed with the facts, citizen.

I will spell it out...

""The goal from this White House is to have as much nonspecific language passed by Congress in policy areas like health care and the environment and then use Sunstein's office to put in place the regulatory language called for by Congress that gets us to where we want to be.  It may very well be the most important job in this administration, given the lack of success we may have on Capitol Hill," says a White House source."

"Where we want to be". And "where they want to be" is in a system where laws are passed that are mandated by the President alone. Not by Congress, not by your representative, not debated. 31 Czars and counting.

None of the major media outlets have carried the controversy regarding the tumult and outrage that Van Jone's ultra-radical past (as far back as March of this year!) has caused. Van Jones radicalism is not an aberration; he is the rule in this administration.

Van Jones is a self-avowed Communist. He has called himself a Communist. This is not a pejorative that I'm throwing around. He believes that 9/11 was an inside job. He signed the 'truther' petition. He is a racist. Again, I am not throwing words around. Search youtube and listen to his speeches. He is anti-american and a hard core leftist, which is why the White House finally cut him loose. We found out.

Has it escaped anyone's notice that our President has appointed, most without congressional approval or over-sight, 31 such czars? These czars are in charge of different segments of our economy and their job is to meet with "stakeholders", i.e. big business, union leaders, wall street, etc., and to 'come to an understanding' of how things will work. These 'stake holders' may get to meet with the President, who will hammer out his agenda and the 'stake-holders' will then fall in line. Then these 'czars' will work to come up with ways to get non-specific legislation pushed through that will allow them to implement Obama's agenda. And all this without our representatives' knowledge or oversight or debate. If this does not send a chill down your spine then I don't know what will.

This is all laid out in an American Spectator article, "From Citizens to "Stakeholders"; The New American Constitution".  We are seeing, before our very eyes, our country's foundation changed from a representative republic to the "New Foundation" that Obama referred to when he campaigned. Your representatives, citizen, are being pushed aside and made irrelevant, much like they are in countries like Argentina and Venezuela. If you think I'm exaggerating I would urge you to read this article.

Obama's FCC czar, Mark Lloyd, belonged to a group that has sought a way to shut down conservative talk radio. Mark Lloyd is a disciple of Marxist Saul Alinsky and a fan of Hugo Chavez. The President knew this and appointed him precisely for this reason. " 'As Lloyd writes, the "part of our proposal that gets the dittoheads (Rush Limbaugh fans) upset is our suggestion that the commercial radio station owners either play by the rules or pay.' " Does this scare you? It should. Mark Lloyd praises Hugo Chavez. Here's a headline I picked up in scanning news this morning: "Chavez minister vows more Venezuela radio closings".

This is happening. Obama is implementing an authoritarian-type government and it is happening under our noses because the major media outlets are not doing their job.

Authoritarians try to infect the popular culture. In an article that just broke this morning the White House had surreptitiously set up a conference call with the NEA (National Endowment for the Arts) and a third party go-between. A quote from this article: "What appears to be emerging is a concerted and deliberate effort by the White House and the NEA to encourage the art community to create issue specific art."  A third party was used to try to distance the White House from this conference call but THERE IS AUDIO OF THE THIRD PARTY affirming that the White House initiated this meeting. I emphasize this because this is not just someone's word that can be denied by the White House; the third party is caught on tape affirming this! This is with your money! The White House is directing artists to start cranking out government propaganda on your dime!

Authoritarians always try to reach children and thereby create a ready army for the future to create the right "mind-set". The president has also delivered a speech directed at our school children this morning. By all accounts, it is a wonderful, up-lifting speech. Why does this still bother me so much? Our president will be in office for the next 4 years and he may just want to speak to our kids every fall, every spring and whenever he wants. He will create a bond with our kids. I will be the first to tell my kids that we must have respect for the office of the President. I won't allow my son to speak disrespectfully of President Obama or of anyone for that matter. But i will not allow this president to create a bond with him. I have plenty of work to do already to inculcate a civic-minded, America-loving, God-fearing child. I do not want to argue with my kids about why President Obama is not so bad in light of the wonderful words they've been hearing over the past 4 (or 8) years! Sorry.  When then President  H.W. Bush gave a speech in '91 to school children about 'saying no to drugs' the Democrats launched an investigation and held hearings! We didn't hear any such outrage about Obama's speech, did we? Presidents should not directly address children through the school system. Authoritarians always devise ways to directly forge bonds and 'recruit' children to their 'cause'. It may sound benign but they lay their foundations carefully. That is what Marxist's do.  "'Jailed for ten days, I met several activists who were finding ways to link teaching and education with deep and fundamental social change. They were following Dewey and Dubois, King and Helen Keller who wrote: "We can't have education without revolution' ".

31 czars and counting. The highest number of czars appointed by a president was by George W. Bush and that number was 4! Why does this president need so many czars who are not accountable to anyone but the president? Indeed, some of these positions were created by Congress but it was a Democrat controlled congress that pushed legislation through without Republican votes. The Van Jones incident proves that they don't necessarily go through a vetting process. We are heading towards a "stake-holder" type of government where who is a "stake-holder" is determined by the President alone.

Our president has a plan for our country. For you. For our children. Be afraid. But more than that be aware. 2010 is coming.

Teach your children well

I just finished watching "Across the Universe" a tribute movie to the Beatles' music that has become iconic of an era of anti-war protest and wide-spread turmoil. Don't get me wrong; I love the Beatles. With the upcoming release of the Beatles Rock Band video game VH1 is having a Beatle marathon and I am loving it all. But in watching the movie I continue to wonder at how an entire generation could have gotten everything so wrong. The seeds that were sown in the '60's by youngsters have become a radical leftist-statist political force that is threatening to over-turn everything America stands for: freedom of the individual, liberty, pro-democracy and tolerance. How could that have happened? How could young people, whose parents fought for their right to live securely and peaceably with their neighbors, who gave their children all the comforts of a prosperous nation, the opportunity to go to a university and be educated, how could they then turn and spit on our fighting men and oppose the very system of government that encouraged their right to speak freely by then inciting violence themselves?

My father and mother are 'the greatest generation'. My father fought in WWII in France and England. When my father came home he never spoke of his experiences. He came home and worked hard to bring up his family of five children. He gave us every comfort, until he died in '64 of stomach cancer. What my parents never did was to tell us why he fought and what they believed. He had humility, a virtue unknown on the left. He sacrificed by going to war and when he came home by working any job offered to provide for his growing family, and all without complaint about healthcare or low wages. He never spoke about any of it. And therein lies the problem.

I thank God every day that I live in this wonderful country. I found my gratitude in my Christian faith. I have a redeemer who give me a purpose in life. But for many of my generation their purpose is in a redemption of a different kind; in believing that you can only be righteous if you oppose everything (they think) that America stands for. They saw the devastation that war caused and they drew a wrong conclusion. They didn't recognize evil. They sought to find a villain. In their limited view of the world they confused the enemy and the benefactor. And they are teaching their children to hate everything we stand for too. Their self-righteousness now seeks to impose a statist political agenda on others.

Parents, lets not leave our children to draw the wrong conclusions. As we train up our children in our Christian faith we must also train them up on our civic American God-given responsibility. We must tell our children why we fight, what we stand for, why we defend freedom here and around the world, why there is evil in the world and what we must do to fight it. We must explain to our children the very concept of evil. We cannot negotiate with evil. Evil seeks to destroy. This may be the most important lesson that our friends on the left have never learned: the very concept of evil, what it is. Many on the left do not think that evil exists (or if it does it is America)! That all we must do is explain our honorable intentions to terrorists and dictators,  and all will be well.

Our returning veterans have a wonderful message they must impart to their children when they come home or when their children are old enough to understand: we fight because we must always make sure that our country remains safe, a place where we can speak freely and so our world can know that where there is evil there will always be a country who will step forward and defend the oppressed, even unto death! Though not perfect we recognize real evil around the world and will fight to defeat it.

David Horowitz, a famous ex-radical says this: "The only way to defeat the left — and I have failed in twenty years of arguing this to persuade conservatives  — is to turn the table around and attack their moral self-image. Leftists are in fact the enemies and oppressors of women, children, gays, minorities and the poor, and conservatives should never confront them without reminding them of this fact." Conservatives are reluctant to attack the moral self-image of the left because we know that we have all failed morally and so we are reluctant to point fingers. But the time is getting late and the moral self-image of the left is destroying the foundations of our country. The time to speak up is now!

"The Obama theory was simple, though always freighted with risk: Use a season of economic anxiety to enact sweeping changes the public likely wouldn’t stomach in ordinary times."

Is there any Democrat reading this who can honestly say that this isn't a despicable strategy? In other words the Obama administration wants to take advantage of scared citizens who are hurting, unemployed and frightened about their futures to enact leftist's dream agenda, which include a total take-over of our health care system. We won't stomach it but kick us when we're down and out of fear we will!  As Rahm Emmanuel also said "But one is, you know this is my operative theory which is you never allow a serious crisis to go to waste. There is an opportunity to do big things. But it's an opportunity when you think you couldn't do something, because people knew this is a moment of peril, but also a moment of possibility." Knowing this would cause me to question if there really is a crisis or has it been one of the left's making? A lot of leftist's are sure benefitting from this "crisis". George Soros' oil company is getting an infusion of about 2 billion dollars for drilling off-shore in Brazil!  This is for sure; the stimulus has exacerbated everything. I now seriously doubt if we ever needed a stimulus. Countries (like Germany) who never main-lined money into their economic systems are now coming out of the recession while here we are, continuing in a downturn.

"You get the argument, well, 'this is not a stimulus bill, it's a spending bill," Obama said, repeating GOP criticisms of the bill. "What do you think a stimulus is? That's the whole point.... No seriously, that's the point."

No, Mr. President, THAT ISN'T THE POINT! I'm not an economist but I think the point of a stimulus is to STIMULATE THE ECONOMY! To do that you don't saddle every American with debt that will cripple us for generations! A stimulus doesn't always have to be about infusing the system with money, it can be a lowering of tax rates, loosening of regulations, incentives for business, tax shelters, suspension of gas taxes, ...need I go on? For Democrats though, it's always about taking our money. But to be fair, I don't think our college boy President has much experience running an economy. He hasn't had much experience as the head of anything. Except possibly ACORN.

Government is the answer?

It isn't really that difficult, is it? Health care is too expensive, we all know that, but why? Why can't a college student just buy a policy that only gives him access to emergency care if he breaks his arm or has a car accident and a few doctor visits a year for flu?  A policy that's really stripped down. It could be called the "college care" policy. There would be competition among insurers to see who has the best product because college students can' afford much. The student wouldn't need or want to pay for mental health care, coverage for mammograms, gynecological care, cancer, heart disease, or any number of mandated care. Ahhh, there's the answer! Because all that coverage, and more, is MANDATED. By whom, you ask? By big daddy government! Before we go off the deep end and accuse insurance companies of all manner of evil, mean and cruel acts just remember: they have a @#*-load of government regulation and paperwork that MUST BE MET. Regulations that tell them what must be included IN EVERY SINGLE POLICY, whether the customer wants it or not! The government also mandates how much is to be charged for these services. These services aren't cheap because they aren't subject to our ability to pay, so if the price mandated isn't enough to pay the doctor or the hospitals and still reap a profit to pay insurance employees and make a healthy profit for shareholders, that cost is passed....ON TO YOU! True, they're "in it for the money" but aren't we all? I mean, in a business for the money? Simple, really. Do any of you sell on Ebay? If you're selling a book for 3 dollars and the shipping is 6 bucks, i'm gonna guess that you will not be selling that book for less than 9 dollars, right? Have you noticed how fast laser eye surgery prices have come down every year? Now why is that? I remember when it was first introduced in 1990 it could cost about $6,000. an eye! Laser eye surgery is very rarely (if at all) covered by insurance so i would have to pay OUT OF POCKET, which forces laser eye centers to price it according to our ABILITY TO PAY. The same goes for all cosmetic surgeries, though less so because it's not as important as our sight. That's called COMPETITION!  It isn't rocket science. Big Government is always the answer! But what is the question? It's "WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HEALTH CARE EXPENSES THAT CLIMB TO ASTRONOMICAL NEW HEIGHTS EVERY YEAR"? BIG GOVERNMENT! This is a simplistic answer to very complex problems and there are other factors that cause insurance rates to climb (sue-happy lawyers, mal-practice insurance, etc.). But here is a hard and fast rule for you: GOVERNMENT INTERFERENCE ALWAYS PRODUCES A DISTORTION IN THE MARKET RESULTING IN HIGHER PRICES. You see, politicians like control and power. They love boards where they can appoint and gain favor and bureaucracies to be lord over and LARGE BUDGETS so they can skim off the cream. It disgusts me that our Liberal leftist citizens railed against "THE MAN" in the 60's but now they are "the man" and they are as corrupt as ever, even more so. "Peace and Love" at the point of a government regulation that could destroy your life! Some words of wisdom:

"The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help.'"

"GOVERNMENT IS NOT THE ANSWER TO THE PROBLEM, GOVERNMENT IS THE PROBLEM" RONALD REAGAN.

and here's one from another 'right-wing' nut:

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. –Thomas Jefferson

Bearing False Witness?

The President has accused many of us on the right who simply do not believe his many false statements regarding the health care debate of "bearing false witness". The biggest whopper that he keeps repeating over and over again is this: "If you like the insurance you have you will be able to keep it and if you like your doctor you will be able to keep him". That is a flat-out lie. He cannot guarantee that once his health plan is implemented employers will not dump their employees into the government health plan, particularly when employers will be penalized with an 8% tax if they so choose to continue with their private insurance. That's from page 16 of House Bill 3200 (www.mcclatchydc.com/homepage/story/74035.html). The president is quoting Scripture to tar his opponents as immoral because we disagree with him..that's pretty rich coming from someone who supports abortion! I wonder what Jesus would think of that? While the President thinks he has latched onto a winning strategy I would remind him and his leftist cohorts of this little Scripture, "Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Cor. 9:7. I would tell anyone who thinks that they have found a way to shame those of us who resist a government take-over of 1/6 of our economy that they would lose on this one! At it's very core, socialism, or the forceable taking of our wages for anything other than what is set out in the Constitution, is immoral and oppressive and is not what Jesus commanded us to do! His commands are aimed at the individual, not at governments. He came to change our hearts and save our souls, not empower the strong arm of government to rob its citizens. When it comes to 'bearing false witness' the President needs to take the log out of his eye first!

An Angry Mob?

It is almost trite to say that the Obama administration is 'shredding the Constitution". But there is no other way to describe the way our President has encroached, with the power of the United States Presidency, into the private lives of private citizens. He has appointed, at last count, 32 czars (Washington  www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/07/29/AR2009072902624.html) who are NOT accountable to us or to our representatives. They have been given the power, by the President, to stop the raises and bonuses of private citizens, to fire private citizens from their jobs, to dictate what kind of cars a private company can manufacture, how banks can loan and to whom, to determine the cost-benefit ratio of medicine (in H.R. 3200 bill) that will affect everyone, to determine the salaries and compensation of doctors, to gather information (technology czar), ad nauseum, and this is just a short list. Does this alarm anyone on the left? Would this have alarmed them if the President doing it was Bush? I don't even have to ask. I remember the screams of rage from the left because we were monitoring overseas terrorist's phone calls and yet there is no rage about the biggest encroachment into our private lives EVER IN OUR HISTORY!  Much has been made, in alarming tones by the left, about the angry town hall meetings, calling us 'angry mobs' and comparing us to KKK (www.youtube.com/watch), all the while totally feigning ignorance about their behavior when Bush was in office. Yes, we are angry and WE HAVE A RIGHT TO "PETITION OUR GOVERNMENT FOR A REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES". The grievances include a Democrat-controlled congress who will not listen to us, trying to shove the house bill down the throats of Republican members who were not given an opportunity to give their input on the bill and no way to write their own ideas into the bill, either, being shut out of meetings. Republicans have their own ideas for health care reform but they were not invited to the party. Well, now the Democrats are home, AND THEY WILL LISTEN! Regardless of any attempts by the state media to portray honest Americans as out-of-control the president's poll numbers are dropping like a rock and more and more people are able to download H.R. 3200 to read for themselves. I dare say that the people are better informed than their representatives, for the most part, quoting directly from the house bill as they question them at town hall meetings. As far as i know there are not any other bills that can be printed off to be read or for comparison to the president's false claims. The president is playing a very clever game, making guarantees, referring to health care provisions that no one has seen. The senate may have a few bills floating around but Democrats have not deigned to release them for our perusal.  When Americans get angry there is no mistaking their passion and it would be an arrogant and elitist administration that ignores us at their own peril.

Calling on America

Have you ever heard some lefty claim 'America produces only 5% of the worlds resources but uses up 90%'? What they don't take into account is that America is the world's military: we come to the defense of every country who calls on us. We have spilled our precious blood defending other's freedoms. In fact, Europe's military has shriveled to practically nothing because they know we have their backs. We provide emergency medical care for victims of natural disasters, be they our sworn enemies in earthquake-hit Iran or tsunami victims in Burma; we are the first on hand with our ships, planes, helicopters and medical teams, we send food to the hungry around the world, provide farming know-how, our technology and our engineers have recently helped Israel detect underground tunnels used by Palestinians to smuggle arms and helped France find the wreckage of the Air France that plummeted into the ocean. When the world is in trouble they call on America! 90% of the world's resources?

Yeah, next time elucidate your liberal friends and tell them how we save the world every day in so many ways!

War on Terror just Fear-mongering??

The Obama administration needed a publicity photo op. so they scrambled F-16's behind Air Force One very low over the sky-scrapers of New York. Terrified, hundreds of people poured out of buildings fearing for their lives, seeing a re-play of 9/11. Fear-mongering? The Bush Administration realized that what happened on 9/11 could happen again and they successfully protected America for 7 years without incident. If it was just "fear-mongering" why was it so REAL for the citizens of New York? Now this White House pleads ignorance! Is there any time that the President does not know where Air Force One is? Secret Service agents say "no", the White House is always apprised of it's location, at least to make sure the president doesn't need it, even though there are two. But hey, let's just pass the buck AGAIN to the Bush administration. The Obama Administration can re-define words and rename the War on Terror  "an overseas contingency operation" but to the people of New York they know we are still at war and Obama is putting us in danger if he thinks differently.

DHS REPORT on "RIGHT-WING EXTREMISM"

I am pretty outraged that our government has singled out Americans' political beliefs as criteria for describing a possible terrorist. This administration has sought to downplay the use of the word "terrorist" when referring to the Islamic-fascist terrorist networks that operate around the world and that have brought down the World Trade Center. They are now referred to as just plain "criminals". But every conservative in America had better beware: you have been found to be possessing of those beliefs that typify a "right-wing TERRORIST"! The real terrorists do not merit that term but you and I are suspect and do merit the term!  Does anyone doubt the outrageous, unmitigated bias of this administration against our founders' creed and the beliefs of about half of the country?  An excerpt here:

"Many right wing extremists are antagonistic towards the new presidential

administration and its perceived stance on a range of issues, including immigration and

citizenship, the expansion of social programs to minorities, and restrictions on firearms ownership and use."

And this little tidbit from www.infoplease.com:
Alien and Sedition Acts, 1798, four laws enacted by the Federalist-controlled U.S. Congress, allegedly in response to the hostile actions of the French Revolutionary government on the seas and in the councils of diplomacy (see XYZ Affair), but actually designed to destroy Thomas Jefferson's Republican party, which had openly expressed its sympathies for the French Revolutionaries. Depending on recent arrivals from Europe for much of their voting strength, the Republicans were adversely affected by the Naturalization Act, which postponed citizenship, and thus voting privileges, until the completion of 14 (rather than 5) years of residence, and by the Alien Act and the Alien Enemies Act, which gave the President the power to imprison or deport aliens suspected of activities posing a threat to the national government. President John Adams made no use of the alien acts. Most controversial, however, was the Sedition Act, devised to silence Republican criticism of the Federalists. Its broad proscription of spoken or written criticism of the government, the Congress, or the President virtually nullified the First Amendment freedoms of speech and the press.

Are we seeing a  replay of history? Such is the "unifying, inclusive Change" of the Obama administration!
